Emgrisa sponsors the 13th International HCH & pesticides Forum

Emgrisa participated as one of the main sponsors in the thirteenth edition of the International Forum of Lindane and Obsolete Pesticides organized by the IHPA (International HCH and Pesticides Association), which took place in Zaragoza, between November 3^rd and 6^th 2015.

This is a technical forum where studies and advances related to the problem of lindane and obsolete pesticide waste (regulated by the Stockholm Convention) are shared.

Technical staff of Emgrisa conducted three presentations to show the control, modeling and recovery of lindane in free phase (Dense non-aqueous phase liquid, DNAPL) that are being developed in the uncontrolled landfill of Sardás (Sabiñánigo, Huesca).

The Forum brought together all the interested parties from representatives of the Spanish administration (MAGRAMA, DGA, etc.), administrations from the Central Asian republics and other countries, environmental consultants, research bodies, waste management companies, NGOS etc.

On the last day, a technical visit was made to the town of Sabiñánigo (Huesca), where there are various sites contaminated with lindane. In one of the locations, the attendees were able to observe at first hand the works that EMGRISA is developing for the Government of Aragon since 2009.

This is the third edition in which EMGRISA actively takes part, highlighting the commitment and technical specialisation in the characterisation, monitoring and remediation of sites contaminated by persistent organic pollutants (POP).

The 14^th edition of the Forum will take place Astana (Kazakhstan) in 2017, where we hope to disseminate the advances and experiences obtained in our projects.
